Seeking “my precious” submissions for Materiality: PRECIOUS

I know you’re probably a bit sick of me using the word “precious” all the time, but given how fond we all are of Gollum (right?) and because the publication of Materiality: PRECIOUS will (hopefully) coincide with the release of the next installment of the Hobbit film franchise I thought it would be nice to include a few short pieces on our own preciouses.

What we’re looking for: about 500 words on an object you own, explaining what it is and a little story about why it’s precious. The fabric of the thing should we woven in somehow – how it looks and feels, how it has become worn from use or kept pristine, how its substance has been affected by our feelings for it or vice versa.
