Tiny time-lapse movie: A Boy and His Molecule

Actually it’s stop-motion, rather than time-lapse, but never mind. IBM scientists figured out how to make a stop-motion film by moving carbon monoxide molecules around on a copper plate. Amazing!! After a watched A Boy and His Molecule I watched The Making Of A Boy and His Molecule and then visited their project homepage in hopes of understanding how they did it.
